Sunshine is a Licensed home daycare located in Waverly, Iowa, that offers play-based/creative curriculum for children three months of age to six years of age. Our hours of operations are 6:30am-4:30pm Monday- Friday.
Child-to-provider ratio 6:1 Bilingual (English & Spanish) USDA Approved Breakfast, lunch & snacks are provided and our childcare provider is CPR & First Aid certified.

Full time care for Infants and Toddlers with weekly themed activities.

Sorting
Sorting and grouping things together is an important cognitive skill. It teaches toddlers to notice similarities and differences, learn to categorize, and develops early literacy and numeracy skills.
Cooking
Cooking is a valuable life skill that teaches children about nutrition and food safety, as well as building math, science, literacy and fine motor skills. Encourage children’s interest and excitement in healthy food through age appropriate kitchen activities can be a fun way to learn valuable skills, promote good nutrition and make long-lasting memories in the process.
Yoga
Regular yoga practice helps promote a healthier body through poses that stretch, strengthen and build coordination too. Kid's yoga improves flexibility and increases blood flow, which in turn can help reduce the risk of injury during other physical activity. Yoga also helps kids understand how to use their breathing to reduce stress and feel in control when they feel anxious. Once they master this whilst practicing yoga they can take this technique away with them to use whenever they need reassurance.
Art
Art encourages creativity and imaginative thinking, two skills that are increasingly linked with long-term professional success. Art forces children to engange in out of the box thinking and can help them hone their creative problem-solving skills. Children who are exposed to the arts acquires a special ability to think creatively, be original, discover, innovate, and create intellectual property, key attributes for individual success and social prosperity.
We also includes activities like cutting and gluing paper, finger painting, and drawing to help develop better coordination and improve visual-spatial skills.
CACFP
Sunshine Home Daycare participate in the child and adult care food program offering children USDA Approved meals and snacks.

Admission process
Join our home daycare in four easy steps:

1. Join our Facebook group in there we provide information and pictures about or day to day routine.
​
2. Call or email us to schedule a tour/interview.
​
3. Submit an Enrollment application
If you will like to enroll, please submit an application packet provided at the moment of your tour.
We will not be accepting applications without an interview first.
Is important that children to be enrolled be present at the tour visit.
We will ask for a copy of child's immunizations and last physical.

4. Create an account in our childcare software if you haven’t already. After reviewing your application, we’ll send you an invitation link to create your account in Playground to allow you make check in/out in our every day attendance log, and to be able to communicate with our daycare provider.

As a part of dedication to improving services for children Sunshine Home Daycare is participant in the Iowa Quality Rating and Improvement System.
We obtained our first level IQ4K on June 23, 2023.
ChildNet
ChildNet training is tailored to elevate child care providers beyond the basic state registration requirements, enabling them to deliver best practice child care.
We obtained our ChildNet Certification on August 5, 2024.
